About

Jody Tate

I have worked for 31 years in District 51 schools as a teacher and a school counselor. I worked in the private preschool sector prior to that. I have two MA’s both in counseling as well of years of independent trainings in childhood trauma, Suicidality and Suicide prevention and Restorative Practices. I am a wife and mother of 4. My husband and I have taken in kids through out our child rearing years. We believe kids just need a chance, and I believe the same is true for adults. Sometimes all any of us needs is someone who is willing to listen and help give new perspective.

Education and trainings aside, I have lived my own adventure.

Never perfect, always messy and often frustrating. In my private life, I rarely had the right answer and spilled many tears hoping I hadn’t ‘ruined’ one of my kids. I worked tirelessly, and still do, to build relationships with the people I love. Now they are all grown, I am retired from my counseling job and I realize how big my relationship tool box has become.

My dream, now, is to build a counseling and coaching business that helps other people through their difficult moments. I want to share what I have learned from students, families and my own experiences to help others not struggle quite so much.

I will walk along side you to help you find insight and wisdom to move forward in your journey.
